The Ten Thousand 2020 #ridetenthousand

Sunday, May 24th 2020 at 9:00 am

This is a self supported ride of 120, 75, or 50 miles the full route offers 10,000 ft of climbing! It’s always the Sunday before Memorial Day and starts and end at Freeport Bicycle Co.

The Midwest is often thought of as a vast, flat mass of land punctuated by endless fields of corn and soybeans. Though that is fairly accurate, there exists an area untouched by the glacial advances that have left much of North Central America with the dull landscape we call home. This area is the Driftless.

Ten Thousand will be 120-ish miles and roughly 10,000ft. of elevation gain with gorgeous views atop high ridges, thrilling descents into river valleys, and astonishingly difficult climbs that’ll put even a mountain dwelling cyclist in pain.

The ride leaves from in front of Freeport Bicycle Co. on Sunday May 24th at 9:00 am sharp! Plenty of street parking is available in downtown Freeport, please come inside the bike shop when you arrive to sign waiver and pickup a printed route map if you would like one. Routes will be listed here for all your GPS computers in the days leading up to the event.
